Introduction to the Tile Talk Tiling training course
Tile Talk has developed a distance learning tiling course to instruct and support its growing number of members.
Our goal has been to provide our members with a floor and wall tiling course that is easy to follow and understand.
Although we focus on small tiling jobs as a national group, as your experience grows, the tiling trade can lead to bigger and more complex tiling opportunities. As a result, we have developed a course that provides members with information and advice that will complement them should they choose to specialise in more comprehensive projects. We believe our course and membership will provide a pathway to business and personal success for you and your family.
If you are naturally cautious and take pride in your work, it’s only a matter of time before you become a proficient tiler. If you put in the time, your skills and knowledge will grow day by day, and before you know it, you’ll have the confidence to become a leading operator in your territory.
The Tile Talk Tiling course is a distance learning, three-stage instructional series supported by information and photos, training videos, and access to the Tile Talk Tiling forum.
The layout – what’s involved?
- The course is presented in three stages. Following the completion of each stage, a questionnaire is required to be undertaken, with a 90% pass rate required before progressing to the next stage.
- We recommend you undertake the three stages of the course more than once to help with retaining the information contained within the tutorial.
- Members have access to the Tile Talk forum and are able to submit questions and also provide answers and comments to other members’ questions. We encourage all Tile Talk members to act in a helpful and respectful way towards each other and to offer assistance and advice whenever possible.
- When the training course is completed, members are expected to source work, consider advertising, and start to undertake small jobs, slowly gaining confidence and experience, and progressing onto bigger and more complex jobs, should you choose to.
- Some members choose to specialise in small jobs only, or kitchen splash-backs only. There are no set rules on which type of contractor you prefer to be. You are in control of what work you choose to specialize in and undertake.
